Story
Nandu (NTR) falls for Akshara (Samantha) at his college time
and he accompanies her to her village on the occasion of Akshara's sister
marriage. On their way, Nandu relation with Akshara’s father (Mukesh Rishi) and
their flashback comes to limelight which also involves Ammulu (Shruti Haasan).
The past turns bloodshed with politician Bikshapathi (Ravi Shankar). How Nandu
related to Mukesh Rishi? Who is Ammulu? What comes in the end forms the crux of
the film.
Story
Performances
NTR proved once again his command of uttering dialogues and
he is impressive in the new uber cool look. He is best in dance moves, romantic
scenes, comic timing et al
Samantha is gorgeous in modern attire and sensuous in
romantic scenes. Her on-screen chemistry with NTR is good.
Shruthi Hassan is best in her role but dubbing could be much
better. Shruti Hassan is glamorous in sarees.
Rao Ramesh is amazing, Rohini Hattangadi is hilarious as
modern bhamma, Ravi Shankar wasted and others are good and given their best
performance.
Technical Analysis
Thaman songs are good to see on big screens and background
score is loud at times. Chota K Naidu's cinematography is big asset with colors
in background where couple of songs is romantic. Harish Shankar has succeeded
one more time with hero elevation scenes. Dialogues are neat with oneliners and
Production values are rich.
Analysis
First half of Ramayya Vasthavayya has NTR introduction with
a fight then a song followed by the entertaining elements. NTR was
showcased in a new look and perfect for the film. Fans have treat with NTR
Duryodana getup following intro song et al. The love making scenes between NTR
and Samantha are neat with comic elements. Rohini Hattangadi entertained in
this half. Interval scenes are neatly showcased.
As the story takes us to the flashback episodes showcasing
revenge melodrama second half runs on the pace but overall it is predictable.
Entertaining elements are left out for the blood shed fight scenes in this
half. The villain role has no much weightage and screenplay is left for a toss.
If some more concentration is kept on screenplay of second half it might be a
decent entertainer.
Ramayya Vasthavayya is youthful entertainer where the first
half has good scenes like NTR-Samantha love track followed by Rohini Hattangadi
comedy and diary sequence. Second half is a big let down for the film.
