The Vennela Half Story Begins
Khadar (Vennela Kishore) who works in his father’s meat shop explains to Thagubothu Ramesh how he was transferred to Thailand from US. The story begins in Bangkok where Khadar meets KK alias Krishna Krishna (Chaitanya Krishna) a rich guy who does splitting couples who are in love. KK also a student in near by college who was engaged to a task of separating Vennela (Monal Gajjar) and Sravan (Sravan).
Khader along with his friends stays in an apartment and does their studies. KK as per the job woos Vennela turning as Love Guru to Spilt the engaged couple. But finally KK falls in deep love with Vennela.Rest of the story What will Khader does and How KK succeeds in his Love ?
Performances
Chaitanya Krishna seems much apt in dances than in his acting eventhough he looked refreshing. He should take much care in opting roles further.
Monal Gajjar is sensuous in few scenes but her acting skills are to be developed and she must concentrate on her expressions in the roles.
Tagubothu Ramesh is the major asset of the film who entertains now and then with his apt timing. Brahmanandam was wasted while Giri babu,Raghu Babu and Master Bharat were apt but not used upto their mark with bad screenplay. Vennela Kishore’s role was loud. Sravan role could be heavy, but lacked with badly etched role.
Technical Analysis
Production values for the film are good but technically all failed. Sunil Kashyap’s music along with re-recording was a big let down. Dialogues were pathetic and editing was not at all good. Direction and Screenplay by Vennela Kishore shows immaturity in handling which bought poor result by this film. DI works and Cinematography were appreciable.
Analysis
Though few comedy scenes might cheer up, barring the adult comedy is intolerable in the movie. Vennela Kishore who got appraisals with Vennela, now gets bad critical reviews for his debutant directorial film Vennela One and Half. First half of the film’s narration leaves audience in confusion with its incompetent screenplay and second half has nothing to entertain and climax was wrapped up uninterestingly. Neither Songs nor Comedy makes one to stick to their seats which was mayhem on screens. This film which is the sequel to Vennela, missed the magic of Vennela with poor execution and bad adult comedy.
My Take
A chic adult comedy drags you out of the theatres.
ZC Take
Never thought Vennela to be such a bad Amavasya....
